Emigrant Peak, Absaroka Range

Ran Emigrant Peak the morning of Saturday October 23rd. Snow began in the trees around 8200ft. In the forest, it had previously gone isothermal and refrozen. Snow was blown into solid drifts along the ridge to 10400ft. South facing slope was scoured clean. Above 10400ft to the summit, the snow was faceted for about 12cm from the ground and had a solid wind cap on top. Couldn't get any snow to break into small slabs yet but avoided any windloaded shoots or steep patches.
