Snowboarding

I toured up the area above Hebgen lake today
Snow depth was a bit thin down low but quickly increased
The new snow was was not bonding well to the old snow surface
While skinning up hill or small pillows the new snow would fracture and slide down hill

I stuck to the area directly to the north shortly after you enter the trees off the lake

I dug a pit below the ridge but did not top out due to the conditions

I kept to low 30 deg terrain and avoided roll overs

My snow pit results are as follows
I dug a pit around 8600’
120cm snow depth
Failed at ground on facets
Ectp 10

Overall there is weak snow on the ground with a pretty dense slab sitting on top of it

Attached are photos of the failure layer and the fracturing of the new snow
